Certainly, the characters we annually celebrate in the Nativity are not “the usual suspects.” By definition, a misfit is “set apart from others.” Interestingly, the words “holy” and “saint” in our Bibles suggest the same thing: to be set apart by God for His use. The Nativity is a story of saints who were misunderstood, ignored, or even hated. They were those for whom this world was not worthy, providing models for our own journeys of faith.
